Le tournoi annuel de hockey des Flying Elbows a pris d’assaut Shawville ce week-end, attirant 20 \u00e9quipes en ville pour cette collecte de fonds communautaire.<\/p>\n

L’ar\u00e9na \u00e9tait bond\u00e9e pour du hockey de haut niveau du mercredi apr\u00e8s-midi jusqu’\u00e0 tard en soir\u00e9e le samedi, lorsque les championnats des trois divisions ont \u00e9t\u00e9 disput\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

\u00ab C\u2019\u00e9tait g\u00e9nial. Chaque ann\u00e9e, c\u2019est vraiment du bon hockey \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 l’organisateur Will Armitage.  <\/p>\n

Apr\u00e8s les matchs finaux, les Red Wings de Breckenridge ont \u00e9t\u00e9 sacr\u00e9s champions de la division comm\u00e9morative James Smith, l’emportant 5 \u00e0 4 en finale contre le Pontiac Thunder.  <\/p>\n

Electric Stable a \u00e9t\u00e9 couronn\u00e9 champion de la division Bryan Murray avec une victoire de 5 \u00e0 1 contre North Clarendon, tandis que les Flying Elbows ont remport\u00e9 la division Royce Richardson avec une victoire de 4 \u00e0 1 contre les BarnBurners. <\/p>\n

L’\u00e9quipe de Steve Beck, Beck Electric, a termin\u00e9 \u00e0 la troisi\u00e8me place de la division ouverte. N\u00e9 et \u00e9lev\u00e9 \u00e0 Shawville, Beck a affirm\u00e9 n’avoir pas manqu\u00e9 beaucoup de tournois des Flying Elbows au cours de ses 29 ans d’existence. <\/p>\n

\u00ab J’adore l’occasion de faire d\u00e9couvrir \u00e0 mes amis de l’ext\u00e9rieur l’effervescence qui entoure ce tournoi \u00bb, a-t-il d\u00e9clar\u00e9 pour expliquer pourquoi il continue de revenir. <\/p>\n

Beck a invit\u00e9 son ami, l’ancien joueur des S\u00e9nateurs d’Ottawa Chris Neil, \u00e0 jouer dans son \u00e9quipe. Neil a enfil\u00e9 l’uniforme pour un match, prenant \u00e9galement le temps de rencontrer quelques-uns des habitants. <\/p>\n

Armitage a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 qu’il \u00e9tait bon d’avoir Neil ainsi que de nombreux autres joueurs de haut niveau au tournoi, car cela ajoute au calibre du talent sur la glace. <\/p>\n

Il a mentionn\u00e9 qu’au cours des 29 ans d’histoire du tournoi, il a fait des dons \u00e0 des causes telles que les soins palliatifs \u00e0 l’H\u00f4pital de Pontiac, des familles locales dans le besoin, ainsi que pour divers articles \u00e0 l’ar\u00e9na. <\/p>\n

\u00ab C’est vraiment un tournoi communautaire \u00bb, a-t-il affirm\u00e9, ajoutant que le tournoi fait des dons \u00e0 toutes les causes n\u00e9cessaires dans la communaut\u00e9. <\/p>\n

Il a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que les fonds de cette ann\u00e9e seront mis de c\u00f4t\u00e9 pour l’ann\u00e9e prochaine, la 30e \u00e9dition, en vue d’un don plus important. <\/p>\n
